2020 has been a historic year for Strata in Western Australia. The amendments to the Strata Titles Act were officially proclaimed in May and changes have already been rolling out across the state.

These changes to strata have been in the works since 2002 and are a long way from the current Strata Titles Act which was proclaimed in 1985 when there were only 12,000 strata schemes in WA. Today there are over 74,000 strata schemes.

The Amended Strata Titles Act 1985 includes a number of changes that make strata easier to navigate and a better place to live. There are also a number of changes that pertain to the way strata managers operate and a few specific things that have to be addressed in all strata management agreements going forward.

What does this mean for you?

ESM Strata has updated the management agreement that exists between the Strata Company and the Strata Management Company to ensure it complies with the new amendments and continues to provide you with service in line with the Strata Titles Act.

So that we can continue supporting you and your Strata Company, we both need to enter into the updated agreement before November 1st 2020.

Further changes

ESM Strata now has a new schedule of services that form part of this updated management agreement. We have simplified all our services to guarantee a flat rate each year for your Strata Company that ensures you comply with everything required by the Strata Titles Act.

Your Strata Manager will be in touch with you over the next few weeks to discuss the above with you and arrange for a new contract to be signed.

If you have any questions at all please don’t hesitate to contact your Strata Manager.
